Alongside his physiotherapy training, Michael worked as an Athletic Therapist, delivering injury assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation for a variety of sporting populations. His own involvement in GAA, rugby, strength training, and endurance activities gives him a strong understanding of the physical demands placed on active individuals. He enjoys working with recreational and competitive athletes to support injury recovery, optimise performance, and reduce the risk of future injury.
Michael’s clinical approach is centred on thorough assessment, clear communication, and collaborative goal setting. He believes in empowering patients through education and tailored rehabilitation programmes, helping them take an active role in their recovery and return to the highest level of function, whether that means getting back to daily life, work, sport, or achieving new performance goals.
Michael is a CORU registered Physiotherapist and qualified Athletic Therapist with a First-Class Honours MSc in Physiotherapy from Health Sciences University, Bournemouth, and a bachelor’s degree in AthleticRehabilitation and Therapy from Technological University of the Shannon. He is passionate about helping people of all ages and activity levels recover from injury, manage pain, and achieve their health and performance goals through evidencebased physiotherapy.
Throughout his previous experience across musculoskeletal, neurological, respiratory, and community rehabilitation settings. This diverse background has given him extensive experience working with a wide range of conditions, from everyday aches and pains to more complex rehabilitation needs, allowing him to provide personalised care tailored to each individual.
Michael has developed a strong interest in musculoskeletal physiotherapy, treating conditions such as back and neck pain, joint injuries, arthritis, tendon problems, and post-operative rehabilitation within multiple scenarios, such as underage intercounty GAA and elite rugby. He has experience using a combination of hands-on treatment, exercise therapy, and patient education to help individuals regain confidence, improve function, and return to the activities that matter most to them.
